THE ink may have dried on a new shop letting in Scunthorpe - but it may take a while for the dust to settle.

The new Cartridge World store celebrated opening its doors for business with a visit from the British Touring Car Championship replica car sponsored by the print giant during the 2009 season.

The store at Ravendale Street North, owned by Simon and Stuart Brook, is the latest in his expanding chain of Cartridge World franchises, which include Grimsby and Doncaster.

In addition, by offering a 'green' alternative to buying replacement inkjet and laser printer cartridges, Cartridge World helps prevent empty cartridges from being thrown needlessly into landfill, where more than 45-million are sent annually in the UK, each taking up to 1,000 years to decompose. The store will be run by Neil Hardcastle, who originally joined as manager at the Doncaster store in October 2006, before being promoted to sales manager for the three stores in February 2008. A couple more jobs will be created at the Scunthorpe store over the next year.
