Marlins manager Edwin Rodriguez may not be able to resist the temptation to move up Mike Stanton in the batting order.
Rodriguez has talked to his staff about batting the rookie fourth or fifth. And after watching No. 5 hitter Cody Ross make the final out of the inning four times -- three of those with runners on first and second -- in the Reds' 5-4 victory Saturday, Rodriguez may be ready to make the move sooner rather than later.
"Definitely," Rodriguez said when asked if he is thinking harder about making the switch. "Mike Stanton leading off four times, that shouldn't happen. Every time he was leading off, I was wondering in my head ..."

Then, with the tying run on third base, Dan Uggla popped up the first pitch he saw, which was caught in front of the Reds' dugout by first baseman Joey Votto to end the game.
"You have to be aggressive in those situations," Uggla said. "It just so happened me and Gaby just missed those pitches."
The Marlins received another short outing from starter Sean West (0-2) and couldn't quite recover after the Reds took a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning.
Uggla's 27th home run of the season in the fifth, with Logan Morrison on first, and Wes Helms' fourth of the year in the next inning accounted for all the Marlins' scoring before the run in the ninth.

"We have to find a way to get those runs in," Rodriguez said.
